I’m a lifelong resident of Middle Tennessee. I was born on February 23rd, 1956, at Baptist Hospital in Nashville. I was raised in the Neely’s Bend area of Madison where my father owned and operated a tool and die business. Growing up, I worked in his shop.
After I graduated from Madison High School in 1974, I took a series of odd jobs to save money for college. I remember working as a delivery boy at J.C. Penney. And, I even baled and hauled hay for Dr. Ira North.
By 1976, I had saved enough money to fund my education and enrolled at the University of Memphis. I graduated cum laude in 1980 with a Bachelor’s degree in management and finance. I started my career at Aladdin Corporation and worked for AVCO and R.R. Donnelly & Sons before staring a small business in Sumner County in the late 1980s. After I became established, I accepted a position with American Airlines and worked there for 21 years before retiring.
My political career began in 1990 when I was elected County Commissioner, representing the 4th district. I served on the Commission until I was elected County Executive in 2008.
I’ve always enjoyed representing the residents of Sumner County. It’s an honor and privilege to utilize my experience as office holder, business owner, and parent to serve you.
Thank you for your consideration and vote.
God bless you and our great County,
